I'm pretty sure my multitude of bad bosses have actually been bad bosses.... For one thing, they have been bad in different ways. For another, I have had good bosses too, so I do know what that looks like.

Sadly, many people rise with no managerial skills at all. I've been blessed with pretty good bosses over the years, and the bad ones (the one that essentially drove me to grad school and this one) have mostly just been really really bad managers, not bad people.

Can they be taught to play the keyboard?

Unfortunately they've never shown any musical inclinations at all. They'd hide when we used to have band practice in my basement (as opposed to the dog who would come down to the basement and lay down on the guitarist's pedals).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Sadly, many people rise with no managerial skills at all.

Absolutely. I'm a total believer in the Peter Principle -- people get promoted to their level of incompetence. It makes sense in a stupid way: people who are good at their jobs get promoted. Too bad they get promoted out of the jobs they are good at!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

The nice guy thing is so overdone in movies. He just hangs around while his love interest chases around after all manner of "bad guys" until finally realizing that she really does owe him nookie for being by her side the whole time.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@-forever.

The one movie I can think of off the top of my head that turns this around is P.S. I Love You.

Coding and Sleeping

The Dukes of Hazard have nothing on these Russian guys.

It's the shot from inside the car looking out that is really something.

I can't stop reading about the woman who caused that accident in NY that killed her, her kid, her nieces, and 3 people in another car. I really wonder what was going on there.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy birthday to Scrappy and Emaryn!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Was that the accident caused by her going the wrong way on the highway? Because she was drunk and had been smoking pot.
