Hot and sour is also good
I ordered hot and sour and General Tsao's from this new place the other week--the chicken was great--spicy, not overbattered and not too sweet. The hot and sour? Undrinkably hot. I tried, more often than was sane, but had to dump 80% of it. Very sad. Red pepper flecks all over the place.
Who had Lost DVDs on sale?
Amazon had them as the Gold Box deal yesterday.
Oh, the TJ Thyne short was cute. He's a charmer.
Speaking of TJ, I checked the ingredients for the Trader Joe's Chicken Tikka Masala and was surprised to find that they actually use ghee. Maybe that's why it tastes so good.
I want spicy food. Bad idea. I hate dental work. I am whiny tonight. My tongue hurts.
The ending of Owen Meany was like bells going off. It pleased me on so many levels. Anything I hadn't liked in the book so far came resoundingly into its own, and it all felt so earned. I didn't get that feeling of well-earned resolution from Lovely Bones.
Is Middlesex also from this decade? I really liked that book. The writing didn't stand out for me, but I found the subject matter fascinating as the plot unfolded.
Neil Gaiman doesn't need recommending here-if you're going to read him and haven't, you know. But I encourage people who appreciated the West Indian slant of Anansi Boys to check out Nalo Hopkinson's work. Her SFF is steeped in the Caribbean.
