Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not so much the airport itself as it's location in relation to where I want to end up

LAX to your hotel is not 30 minutes. I don't know where you're staying, but I can assure you of that. Nowhere is actually 10 minutes from the Burbank airport and just 30 minutes from LAX. Not in any naturally occurring traffic patterns outside of 3am. And even then, you might get dinged for speeding.

The area where the 10 hits the 405 is a mess. Luckily it's about where I get off the freeway, so I don't have to spend too much time in it, ever.

it's going to be a lot harder

Their menu is just so simple and tempting...it was worth the long line I stood in yesterday. But their portions are way too large. I think I'm sticking to bowls from now on. They're at least 1.5 servings for me, if not 2.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The Safari, where the LA F2F was. Google Maps estimates 32 minutes, but its possible they were assuming I was Jack Bauer.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I had Chipotle leftovers for lunch. Barracoa bowl.

We ordered in from Chipotle today! And I had a vegetarian burrito bowl. It was the first time I've had a bowl, and I feel there was too much lettuce and not enough rice. That said, their guacamole always makes me happy.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Books I regret reading Based on user votes.

Guess which series has the top three books?

Definitely! I live half the distance away and I can't guarantee I can get home in half an hour. And you gotta go on the 101, which can make the 405 look like the Autobahn. Nah, it's about 30 miles--how are you supposed to observe the speed limit and still drive on surface streets and make it in 32 minutes if there are a) other cars b) traffic lights?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The Lovely Bones, really? Huh. I liked it well enough. That's an odd list.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had a surprisingly good frozen mexican thing for lunch, which would have been better if I hadn't microwaved it, but now I wish I had Chipotle. The lunch wasn't actually enough, so maybe cereal for a snack before I go grocery shopping.

It is hilarious what the people I work with think normal people will think is important. Spoiler: they are not things normal people would think are important.

Yeah. Like if you read the first two Twilight books and regretted reading them, what would make you think reading the third one was a good idea?

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I find the easiest way to pick or be sure of flights/airlines is go to the website of the airport.

I'm pretty sure VAT is just UK. Other countries have different rules. VAT applies to services, for instance, so it's not just a sales tax. I couldn't say if the same applies for all of the EU.

VAT is throughout Europe. I don't know about ordering online, but for purchases on-site you had to spend a certain amount in a specific store to get the refund when you passed through customs. The tax is pretty high though (I want to say close to 20% depending on the country), so worth asking about.
