Every nightmare I have that doesn't revolve around academic failure or public nudity is about that thing. In fact, once I dreamt that it attacked me while I was late for a test and naked.

NYistas, I've got a question about Central Park.

A friend traveled with her two dogs this weekend to a hotel within easy access of the Park. 61st East, I think she said. When she got there, ALL the grass was fenced off. She asked two park workers who both said that the only grass available was roughly 16 blocks away.

Can that be true? Is the whole park cordoned off, and if so, why?

for her dogs to run on? It is possible. I am pretty sure there are only specific places dogs can be on the grass, legally. There are always sections of the grass that are fences off to re-seed or for rest days. Other areas of grass have fences around them, but gates to enter.

Maybe she missed the gates. She said the fences were ringed with benches facing away from the grass. The workers said that dogs just 'go' on the sidewalk, which seems bad for people.

Our parks get fenced for reseeding every year, but they are wood slat fences that don't remotely look permanent.

It's been sooo long since I've been in the park, so much has surely changed. I just didn't remember seeing fences anywhere.

Thanks msbelle.

According to this PDF: [link] , they were wrong, there were dog friendly places closer. It sounds like she was on the Mall area and yeah, those grass and tree filled areas are surrounded by benches and never meant to be entered. It is true there is no dog run specifically for digs in Central Park.

Loki is passed out under my computer tv tray, on his back, legs splayed. It's kind of adorable.

Also? I need to step away from the email with a 5 hour differential. Really. I can. I will. Shit. Too damned good for my ego, don't wanna.

Heh. Sara, are you once again experiencing the need for a booty extradition?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If that was not meant to reward Gud for paying his bill online, it should be.
