You don't understand. He'd been staying up late when I really just wanted my downstairs to myself, and then mom would wake up as early as I did and I was having NO time to myself. It was making me evil. And lo, the night before they leave...
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you

Of course, I am probably going to crash in an hour myself. These past 2 weeks started making themselves known starting about 6:30 tonight.
He has tenosynovitis in his right hand-repetitive stress injury. If this round of medications doesn't result in substantial improvement, they're going to refer him to a specialist and he might be looking at surgery. Which-- oy!
Barb, has he had a cortisone (or any steroid) shot in his wrist? I had fairly bad tenosynovitis last year, and a cortisone shot plus sleeping with a hard brace took care of it. I would think a shot would be the next step, before surgery.
ION, we have a gastrointestinally ill dog, and it is about as disgusting as you imagine. But I feel so badly for him, because he has this ashamed look on his face, the I-did-something-bad-and-now-I'm-going-to-get-in-trouble look. We keep telling him it's okay, and he's a good boy. (Which I *swear* is making the cats think, "Seriously? So can WE shit on the floor???")

Actually, no and you're right, that'll probably be the next step. Well, referring him to the specialist and then seeing what the specialist says.
And poor, poor, puppy, Tep. That's just the worst.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for him. I saw a hand specialist, who must do a gazillion cortisone shots a day. He got the shot right in the exact spot, and apparently that was all it took.

He keeps giving us baleful looks because he only gets water for 24 hours. The other dog gets to eat, and the cats get to eat (not to mention the humans are ALWAYS eating), but he's on an enforced water fast.
What he doesn't know (because he's a DOG, and logic doesn't work with him) is that tomorrow he'll get rice with boiled chicken. He LOVES that, more than his dog food, I think.

I don't know a dog who doesn't live for boiled chicken and rice. But yeah, until then, he's going to be fairly annoyed. Poor beastie.
Oh, poor puppy, and poor Teppy and Boy too. I hope he gets some rest tonight before his reward tomorrow.
So, here's something I just learned: what a swamp cooler really is. (Hint: NOT something that you put beer in for a picnic.)
(Seriously, I thought it was like a cooler-cooler). It is not.

OMG MY DAD HAS GONE TO BED.
DID HE TURN OUT THE LIGHT ON HIS WAY OUT OF THE ROOM WITH YOU SITTING THERE?!?!?!?
I'm sorry. That should not be hysterical. It's just so brilliantly typical of a certain kind of oblivious behavior. It's going to be my stock example for a looong time.
