I don't name things, either, although I did call my very first bought-by-me car (a pale blue '73 Ford LTD) "The Big Blue Boat," BBB for short. I only had it the summer between freshman and sophomore year in college (no need for it on campus), but it was a cool car to drive around in, if a pain to parallel park.
The names that come with the OS or that the computer repair shop puts on things burn my eyes. I have to rename them. Things like my car that don't actually communicate with other entities (to my knowledge--I never plug into it, so I don't care) don't get named so much.
