I may have to seize the cat.

It's quite the Monday so far. I have a headache & sore midsection from straining the surgically repaired muscles on Saturday. Lewis tweaked his back. Abby appears to have a cold (please the gods and little fishes it's only a cold), and the dogs woke me up at five, not giving a fig for any clocks falling back or any of that nonsense. So far, Nate seems to be the only one unaffected by anything, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, off to a good start. I woke up about an hour and a half before I'd planned to due to a migraine and a bad dream. (I dreamed I was out with a friend from school, checking out sales at the Halloween store, and she left the door to my car wide open without my noticing. And when we came back, someone had stolen my engine. I'm sure there's a fabulous metaphor in there.)

My wardrobe is at least 85% black and gray. I have some white. Sometimes I embrace the darker side of my personality but haven't gone all out...yet.

I suspect if rather than counting by what clothes I own, we counted by what clothes I wear, the black/grey makes a steep jump to 85 - 90%. I don't think I'll ever go all out, because I don't like to wear makeup very much. I also already have what my friend called "Gothic dream hair," so I'm disinclined to put any streaks in or anything. I have determined, however, that wearing my black, my ankh (which I pretend did not come from Spencer Gifts because it's really gorgeous), and having a macabre sense of humor makes me Goth Enough, which is fine with me.

My freshman year of college I put up what essentially was a wallpaper border using the pages from my Gashlycrumb Tinies calendar. If that's not Goth, I don't know what is. (My roommate was scared of me after that. I was an inconsiderate little thing.)

Trust my rage

I'm listening to MN public radio and they are talking about Minneapolis implementing some sort of preferential voting system. I, of course, thought of this board.

eta: I guess they call it instant run-off voting but it sound like preferential voting to me.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Australian lurkers support Minnesota in email.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Buffistas- do any of you have a neutral, fact based link regarding Fox new's bias. My boss is outraged at how Fox is being portrayed as biased, but she is a fairly reasonable person.

hwæt

Not exactly neutral, but there's always Jon Stewart.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My cats' stomachs are still on Daylight time and when their internal dinner bell has rung, there is no peace for me until they're fed.

SO MUCH THIS. grrr. Sylvester found a plastic bag at 5:30.

ION - I introduced mac to Calvin and Hobbes last night. He doesn't get a lot of it yet, but he likes Hobbes.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I don't care about baseball either, AIIFG!

However, I love awards show so much, I will even watch the local high achool musical theatre award show which is televised yearly in my area...

Awards shows: For people who think baseball goes too fast.

I forgot to say that it's great to see Kiba and read her news.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Barb, I hope Tino backs off and your day gets exponentially better.

[side note: I have a student named Tino this semester so it continually cracks me up to see the Buffistas blame him for everything.]

Scrappy, I hope your back is better for your day o'travel.

I think I am the anti-goth. Only about 2% of my wardrobe is black and I listen to country music and broadway showtunes.

I was supposed to take today off. I had a dentist appt in the middle of the day, and since we can't take partial days, I was gonna take the whole day.

And then it got rescheduled for December.

I really wanted today off.

I may have to seize the cat.

ChiKat - I listen almost exclusively to showtunes, so I'm not sure that's anti-goth. (Of course, yesterday, I discussed with my husband exactly which showtunes were and were not Goth... We determined that the Phantom of the Opera, the Jekyll & Hyde Concept Album, and Sweeney Todd are all decidedly goth.) But the tiny black wardrobe and the country music may put you firmly in that category.

Though it occurs to me that it probably really doesn't matter who is and is not goth anyway.
