Trust my rage

I am the exception. I don't like baseball but I've been enjoying watching the World Series.

And yes, the kids and I are all awake before 6am with no need. The only good part so far is that both were asleep last night before 7:30.

I may have to seize the cat.

More thank yous to all of you!

It is! Go forth in quest of black eyeliner and velvety clothes!

Oh, I already have both of those. It's just a matter of putting the velvety clothes together in the right way, and wearing the appropriate jewelry (which I also already have, actually) with them. Sadly I have to forgo the eyeliner even though I have it - I'm completely incapable of applying it without stabbing myself in the eye. Pencils aren't as bad as liquid, but they're still a problem. It's a fine motor skills/essential tremor issue. So I think I'm gonna go the whole smoky eye route instead.

I was born with a goth heart (I think Plei might vouch for this), but I think once I became a teacher I thought I had to suppress my already-very-subtle Gothiness. Which is very silly, I now realize. My subconscious was still making the effort, though - looking at my wardrobe, it's 50% black, 25% red (which I like to consider my signature color, though I'm moving towards purple) and 25% everything else, most of which I still feel a bit off wearing. (Not the white. But the pastels... Oh the pastels.)

Also it turns out I really like some Goth music. Who knew?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kiba, I'm glad you're turning your inner Goth outter.

A few months ago, I painted Owen's nails black at his request and I think someone snorted derisively "is he a Goth boy?" I had to employ some of Jilli's good manners to answer without ripping someone a new one.

My wardrobe is at least 85% black and gray. I have some white. Sometimes I embrace the darker side of my personality but haven't gone all out...yet.

“Not dead yet!”

It's quite the Monday so far. I have a headache & sore midsection from straining the surgically repaired muscles on Saturday. Lewis tweaked his back. Abby appears to have a cold (please the gods and little fishes it's only a cold), and the dogs woke me up at five, not giving a fig for any clocks falling back or any of that nonsense. So far, Nate seems to be the only one unaffected by anything, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Fucking Tino. May he stay away from Cash and Liv-- lots of ~ma for both of you.

Yech, Barb. Monday is on notice.

I don't care about baseball.

Cricket, on the other hand...

I do love cricket, but have been sucked into watching baseball because of the fella. I think without cricket being my gateway drug I wouldn't be able to watch a whole baseball game though. When you've watched a whole test match a few hours of baseball doesn't seem that long.

A few hours of American football, however, can seem a lifetime. He's more or less stopped trying to get me to like it.

Yeah, off to a good start. I woke up about an hour and a half before I'd planned to due to a migraine and a bad dream. (I dreamed I was out with a friend from school, checking out sales at the Halloween store, and she left the door to my car wide open without my noticing. And when we came back, someone had stolen my engine. I'm sure there's a fabulous metaphor in there.)

My wardrobe is at least 85% black and gray. I have some white. Sometimes I embrace the darker side of my personality but haven't gone all out...yet.

I suspect if rather than counting by what clothes I own, we counted by what clothes I wear, the black/grey makes a steep jump to 85 - 90%. I don't think I'll ever go all out, because I don't like to wear makeup very much. I also already have what my friend called "Gothic dream hair," so I'm disinclined to put any streaks in or anything. I have determined, however, that wearing my black, my ankh (which I pretend did not come from Spencer Gifts because it's really gorgeous), and having a macabre sense of humor makes me Goth Enough, which is fine with me.

My freshman year of college I put up what essentially was a wallpaper border using the pages from my Gashlycrumb Tinies calendar. If that's not Goth, I don't know what is. (My roommate was scared of me after that. I was an inconsiderate little thing.)

I'm listening to MN public radio and they are talking about Minneapolis implementing some sort of preferential voting system. I, of course, thought of this board.

eta: I guess they call it instant run-off voting but it sound like preferential voting to me.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Australian lurkers support Minnesota in email.

Buffistas- do any of you have a neutral, fact based link regarding Fox new's bias. My boss is outraged at how Fox is being portrayed as biased, but she is a fairly reasonable person.

Not exactly neutral, but there's always Jon Stewart.
