By the way, Jilli, you are a rock star.
Awww, thank you!
I'm all reading your book and thinking that 28 is an excellent time to grow into my Gothiness.
It is! Go forth in quest of black eyeliner and velvety clothes!
Let me introduce you all to the joy that is not caring about baseball. It is sublime.
You are so, so right.
I hope it is just a tweak, scrappy.
I never play regular scrabble, I just don't spell well enough. But online it won't let me put up a misspelled word.
But I wish I could figure out the logic for foreign words...
Oof, Scrappy. We hates early early flights, we do...good luck.
I am very jealous of the dessert-having of y'all! I went to a dinner party, and was told there would be dessert, and it turned out to be decorating sugar skulls for Day of the Dead. Which, cool and all, but we didn't eat them, and wouldn't have wanted to. So, not dessert. Grrrr....
Though, did you notice she has already updated her name and status on FB?
Her DH changed his status too. AWWWWW
Since I didn't include this in the Delurking thread and maybe one of you didn't hear this all over LiveJournal and Facebook, I got married-ed in July and it's awesome.
Kiba, I think I saw on FB that you got married, and I think I also forgot to send congrats. So, many belated congrats!
I don't care about baseball.
Cricket, on the other hand...
It's still dark out. I feel gipped. What did we change our clocks for, anyway?
OTOH, both xkcd and Questionable Content are firing on all cylinders today.
Even though I have the day off, I am awake and have been for almost an hour now. My cats' stomachs are still on Daylight time and when their internal dinner bell has rung, there is no peace for me until they're fed.
I am the exception. I don't like baseball but I've been enjoying watching the World Series.
And yes, the kids and I are all awake before 6am with no need. The only good part so far is that both were asleep last night before 7:30.
More thank yous to all of you!
It is! Go forth in quest of black eyeliner and velvety clothes!
Oh, I already have both of those. It's just a matter of putting the velvety clothes together in the right way, and wearing the appropriate jewelry (which I also already have, actually) with them. Sadly I have to forgo the eyeliner even though I have it - I'm completely incapable of applying it without stabbing myself in the eye. Pencils aren't as bad as liquid, but they're still a problem. It's a fine motor skills/essential tremor issue. So I think I'm gonna go the whole smoky eye route instead.
I was born with a goth heart (I think Plei might vouch for this), but I think once I became a teacher I thought I had to suppress my already-very-subtle Gothiness. Which is very silly, I now realize. My subconscious was still making the effort, though - looking at my wardrobe, it's 50% black, 25% red (which I like to consider my signature color, though I'm moving towards purple) and 25% everything else, most of which I still feel a bit off wearing. (Not the white. But the pastels... Oh the pastels.)
Also it turns out I really like some Goth music. Who knew?
