So you've never spent a Halloween night assembling Revell plastic models?
You haven't been to ours.
She totally got her candy stolen and was stuffed in a trashcan as a kid. Every year.
I loved Silk Stalkings, even as I knew it was crap. Never saw Forever Knight until cable reruns though--was Silk Stalkings paired with anything else?
Sweating Bullets was the one I loved.
That whole post doesn't even mention Samhain? Hilarious.
I checked Wikipedia--I'm not sure I ever saw Silk Stalkings on CBS. I'm pretty sure it was USA only, since I only came to the States in 93 and none of the other Crimetime shows look familiar.
Y'know, given that Halloween celebrations are a bit of a fairly-recent American import here, churches have a tradition - developed over the last twenty years or so - of denouncing Halloween as demonic, or at least plain old evil. I was surprised to arrive in the US and find churches throwing Halloween parties (and good ones, judging by the fantastic costumes worn by the kids I was a nanny for). Seriously, I grew up (at my parents' admittedly rather out-there church) basically being told I'd probably burn in hell if I dressed as a witch on 31st Oct. Also, I used to get ranted at for watching BtVS by such Christians. Also, also, I've sat through 40-minute sermons about Harry Potter and the Hell-Bound Children Who Like Reading.
Not that I'm bitter, or rebelling with an unhealthy obsession with all things vampiric, zombie-ish, alien-like, lesbian-witch-y, or Eliza-Dushku-shaped. Of course not. Death-themed candy, anyone?
It started out on CBS, but moved to USA after 1 or 2 seasons.
Death-themed candy, anyone?
Oooo! Me me me! Especially if it's Eliza Dushku shaped
I can't believe she's never heard of All Saints' Day. Or maybe saints are satanic, too.
