Ah, my life. I have fabric softener sheets in my purse, but no kleenex.

I have cousins I've never met, and others I couldn't pick out of a lineup.
I have finally met all my first cousins, but that didn't happen until I was 39. I have a few I couldn't pick from a line-up. But, even so, I'm pretty sure if I contacted any of them requesting help, they would do what they could.
Well, I'm not sure if that includes the one cousin who I used to be closest to who doesn't talk to me anymore. I talked with her once when my mom was in hospice. Never heard from her after mom passed away. Her daughter just had a baby - never heard a word about it from her family, just through the grapevine.
What gets me about her, is that she is married to a pastor and I feel like I've been written off cause I don't go to church. Ummm, that first grandchild of hers was born out of wedlock. Not even sure if the mom knows who the dad is. But she is living with them. Eh, whatever.
I am Facebook friends with some of the cousins on Dad's side. Dad's side also contains the mystery cousin, Shane, whom I have never met.
I am not Facebook friends with my other cousins. I do not think they are on Facebook.
They all range from 10-15 years my senior, so even the awesome ones I don't talk to much.
I could call any relative I know of at 3am and get a bed for the night. But I would never do so. Because we are Yankees, and that's how we roll.
Same here.
I'm pretty sure neither of my parents would answer the phone or the door at 3:00 am. My sister would, but only because her husband would bitch at her until she did.
In completely other news, I am wearing medium heeled dress shoes today, have a less than reliable knee, and work on the 8th floor. All of the elevators in our building are out of service this morning.
I am facebook friends with all my cousins. And they mostly all ROCK. So I'm lucky that way.
I know all of my cousins, but I'm not sure DH knows all of his. He spent so much of his childhood overseas that he missed a lot of that extended family stuff.
If you were getting a thank you gift for something professional, would you rather get flowers or something else, like chocolate?
Spa certificate, Amy?
perkins is there a drug store close by? I would go buy a pair of thick socks or some type of slipper.
Spa certificate, Amy?
I don't have the budget for that at the moment, sadly. I'm thinking cupcakes for my editor and flowers for my agent, since I think she might groan at cupcakes.
