So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I slso have some friends who take any strong criticism of Obama as "Obama Hating". He is expanding the war in Afganhistan, planning to shrink but not end the war in Iraq, and seems to be getting us into a war in Afghanistan. I don't hate Obama - in fact this is pretty much what he promised. But I consider this a non-trivial problem, and it is a matter of moving in the wrong direction not just moving too slowly. And I really get pissed at being accused of Obama hating when I point this out.

Yeah, see, that's not what I'm talking about when I talk about the tinhattery.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My weekend: DH is going away for about 5 days. Wah. I will miss him.

Coding and Sleeping

Typo Boy! I posted this much earlier today and this seems up your alley.

I have a question. My FIL mentioned something about how a scientist that Al Gore quotes or uses or something, now is predicting a cooling cycle. I couldn't say anything about this since I didn't know anything about it.

A brief bit of research does indicate there is indeed some truth to this. From what I can determine this doesn't refute CO2 driven warming, it just means a cooling cycle will mute the effect for a period of time. Does anyone know much about this? It made me curious, but looking up objective info on global warming is difficult.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I now realize I have too much stuff to give away. At least, more than I can deal with carting to the Goodwill. I guess I'll try the front-lobby freecycle and see what goes, and make a Goodwill run on Sunday with what's left.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Whereas I just want to go to the big Goodwill downtown, and then maybe go to the cafe right next to it that has gumbo. Heeeyyy, I wonder if I could sweet-talk my parents into doing that...?

Today I wish I had a granny cart. Or a ride. Ah well.

The Dearborn one? The selection was beyond crummy last time I was there, which was 2-3 weeks ago. It's gone downhill. You're better off doing Shoreline or Ballard or U District.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The big problem with donating items to Goodwill or Boys and Girls Club or whatever is that they don't accept a lot of stuff. Clothes are good, pillows, working lamps, etc, are OK, but no toys that have been opened, no baby gear, no beds, dear Dog no mattresses, no couches, no desks. Il est un pain.
