Woman arrested for assault while having a seizure: [link]
"I just remember being strapped down, feeling like I was in a straitjacket, and I just kept taking off the strap, like 'please no, please no', not really understanding everything that was going on," Kourtney said.
But Tiffini repeatedly confronted the paramedics about what she saw as heavy-handed tactics, telling them, "'I called you all to help her but you're being too rough with her. It's almost like you're assaulting her.' As soon as I said that, one of the EMT guys pointed to Kourtney and says, 'you're going to jail.'"
Kourtney says she was dragged down the stairs of her house in handcuffs to a waiting police car.
She was in police custody for nine hours before getting anti-seizure medicine from an ER.
I get the flu shot almost every year and occasionally get sick for a day from it. One of the few years I did not get it, I was sick for over a week and for 4 days I could barely get from one room to the next at my place. I am not seeking out the H1N1 vaccine this year, but would consider getting it if I cam across it being offered.
Yeah, if I got the flu every year, I'd consider it, but it's been years and years. And I suspect if I do get sick this year, it will be H1N1, which is apparently going around here. Half of my coworkers are sick.
I got my regular flu shot on Wednesday, and the doctor said H1N1 probably won't be available till November. H1N1 has been cavorting through my company, so I'm mildly worried. Fortunately I don't hang around seething bacterial farms, ie, kids.
The reason you feel sick from the flu is primarily the effect of your immune response - fever, inflammation, fatigue etc are all your body fighting off the disease, not the disease itself. Because a flu shot is designed to trigger an immune response, it's completely normal to feel crappy for a few days after you get one. It doesn't mean the flu shot "made you sick."

Dude, you'd think someone could've explained that in such nice, simple words to the anti-vax crazies. Possibly with the aid of tasers.
I should probably get a flu shot. I've got mild asthma, which is usually almost no problem, but whenever I get a respiratory infection my breathing get really bad really quickly. The student health center announced that they were going to be giving flu shots, but then canceled that because they weren't able to get them. I'm not sure if it's been rescheduled yet.

Oh, don't you know? I've just been brainwashed by Big Pharma. But I find your taser suggestion intriguing...
Perkins, that's the best. story. ever!
I thought you might like that one!
I have no desire to do work, even though I have a large pile of it to get through today.
Considering the way I feel right now, I suspect that I'll be spending the weekend in bed. I hope it's not the flu. Maybe I should take my work laptop with me tonight in case it is.
I'm scheduled to get a regular flu shot next week.
