Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wait- I think I missed something! Is your kitty missing tommy? I think you need to leave work and go look for her, as you won 't be able to focus.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think you need to leave work and go look for her, as you won 't be able to focus.

I agree with this.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I third that - if you're not getting any work done anyway, you should go and look for her.

ION, the Obama admininstration has told the DOJ to leave state-licensed medical marijuana sellers alone: [link]

Marijuana is legal in more than a dozen states for some prescribed medical uses—such as pain reduction or treatment for glaucoma. It is still, however, illegal under federal law and had been treated as such during the Bush administration, which encouraged federal pursuit of people who used or distributed marijuana in accordance with state laws that permitted it.

The announcement, made today in a memo from Deputy Attorney General David Ogden, indicates that the new recommendations largely arise to trim Department of Justice workloads and "does not 'legalize' marijuana." Accordingly, "prosecution of individuals with cancer or other serious illnesses who use marijuana as part of a recommended treatment regimen consistent with applicable state law…is unlikely to be an efficient use of limited federal resources," the memo stated.

There's a Science of Zombies thing at the DGA theatre. A panel of neuroscientists and epidemilogists are doing a talk with George Romero after a screening of Night of the Living Dead, and I volunteered to help herd cats into the building. FUN!

That is AWESOME. 100% Undead AWESOME.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I fourth the leave work now rec. I'd be beside myself with worry and wouldn't get a single thing done.

Big!Boss is on the warpath -- I mean SERIOUSLY -- because 1 word was misspelled in our guidelines for authors. Out of 2,000 pages/year of articles with words like "abciximab" and "fluoroquinolones" (all of which are spelled correctly), he loses his SHIT over ONE WORD.

He's demanding to know where the "paper trail" is for the author guidelines, WHO is responsible for the error, WHY can't we show him an actual galley proof of the guidelines (which were created in December of 2008 -- gee, maybe that's why we don't have a galley on hand).

I'm not sure why he wants the "paper trail," because what will it prove? Does he REALLY want to publically shame someone for misspelling one word?

Perfection, by its very definition, is impossible. Therefore, demanding it and then punishing someone for not achieving the impossible makes you an asshole. Even if you're the boss.

No Craigslist links, please.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I posted about lost kitty to Craigslist (good idea!) Now I'm trying to finish up some SQL at work, but I'll see if I can leave work soon. I'll make up some flyers before then....

information libertarian

Huh, I was sure abciximab had to be made up.

Even very smart people make stupid mistakes. My father, who is a doctor and wicked smart besides, once looked up "camera" in the dictionary. (He was mentally pronouncing it "cam-AIR-ah" and couldn't recognize it!)
