But such a happy, bouncy tune!

So, Disney has given Tinkerbell a new outfit. It has sleeves, and tights. And, it seems, seeing less of Tinkerbell's skin will turn your daughters gay? Or something? [link]
Oh...dear. Hil, that woman made my brain hurt (the one the blogger was quoting, obviously, not the blogger herself). The idea that Tinkerbell "always" looked like a '50s pinup when J.M. Barrie's book was first illustrated by Francis Donkin Bedford in 1911 is...well...a bit of a logic-breaker.
Not to mention that the new outfit Tink is wearing is hardly androgynous. Sheesh, I suspect that plenty of hetero men would think that's a sexy outfit, too. I do, but since I'm a queer bi freak, clearly I'm not a reliable source and am trying to infect the children with teh gay.
Not Safe For Work
(but not obscene either, just flashes of nudity and general debauchery circa 1970)
Skipping a bit (having internet, and then right after that, having classes to teach? Not easy on the catching-up), because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is one of those lovely double Buffista events, being both Burrell's birthday, as well as Calli's.
Happy birthday, Burrell! Happy birthday, Calli! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
I went to bed soon after posting, read until 10:30 ish was still awake at 11:15 ish, but not long after that. mac woke me up at 3:55AM!!!! saying he had a bad dream, but I am betting he was playing that GD game until then. I refused him my bed and went back to his room with him. laid down with him for all of 10-15 minutes and he was out, so I returned to my bed and double checked that the alarm was set. I woke him up at 6:45 and instructed him to finish homework before the tv was turned on, to which I got angry face and huffing and puffing. me. I am still angry.
Oh, msbelle, how rough.
Is it too close-to-the-events to say that you're such a good mom by deciding on good boundaries and making sure you both live by them? That's so difficult, and you're doing such a good job (even though the results are still mostly hardships and anger and tiredness).
Back at work after a two week vacation. I even got to work before 7:00am. My body feels like it's still awake from the night before, though.

This one.
So, there is apparently water leaking from under my refrigerator. I just have no time or interest in dealing with this. Is it terrible to leave it until tonight? I noticed a little water last night (thought it was a spill), and there's not a ton this morning.
Could be condensation... does it have a icemaker or any kind of water hookup? Could it be a leak from pipes in the walls?
Some of these qualify as emergencies that would be appropriate to stay home from work to deal with, I have to say.
msbelle, hang in there. Note to self: Parenthood, not for the weak and easily frightened...
