If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Are you sure you need a lighter at all? I think most of them have an ignition switch.

I actually read all 300 and something messages! Lets see how my memory is this morning...

Glad to hear ita's mom is ok, and will be watching my mom closely in the hopes she avoids any broken bones. She does all my heavy lifting these days, we can't have her getting broken!

Yay Jess!!! Congrats!

Kitty cats are cute and lizards are kinda creepy but fascinating.

Hope msbelle feels better, and that Juliebird keeps her job.

Nothing much to report from me. A family friend gave me a bunch of adorable baby stuff yesterday, which was awesome. BF and I have been shopping for furniture for our new place ONLINE, which seriously sucks. Honestly, picking out a mattress on the internet??? :S But alas, what choice do we have? Its better than letting him pick out everything on his own. *shudders*

Oh! And grats to Gris and to Spidra too!!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I've used the fireplace clicky lighter every other time. The way this seems to work is that you turn the gas on, turn it to light, press the red button, and then stick the lighter in. It is just in a fairly awkward spot where I feel like my hand will be in the flame while I am lighting it. It also appears to be instaled upsidedown.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sophia, I bet I have a similar-style furnace (we think 1922-ish). Before I got a fire-clicker-thingie, I'd use a fork and twine a match between the tines. To light it on fire, I'd bring down a small candle, so that I could twine the match BEFORE it was on fire. And then I'd put on an oven mitt to hold the fork.

Luckily, there is a pause between relighting the pilot light and the full-on furnace firing up (there is a thermocouple that has to get up to a certain temperature, to make sure there is flame to ignite all that gas -- safety!) so there's small chance that it could come on when I've got my arm inside the damn thing, but Safety First, you know?

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Congratulations Jessica!

Can anyone explain the mystery of how Moxie soda is still being sold after more than a century despite tasting like it does? I like old-fashioned sasparilla drinks and thought I'd give it a try, but I can't imagine anyone willingly choosing to drink that swill over water.

Good idea, theo. I can get matches at the gas station. They just don't have a fire clicky stick! The gas is off, so there is no hurry, I am just cold!

We hit it yesterday for Sara -- long-sleeved fall shirts marked down to $7.99 and then an additional 50% off. We scored so. much. stuff.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Can anyone explain the mystery of how Moxie soda is still being sold after more than a century despite tasting like it does?

My childhood best friend drank it with milk. ISTG.
