'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yeah -- please let it not be that he fell out but was freaked and hid somewhere near his home.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Well, best hopes is that it's a hoax, second best that he never got in the balloon...

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Those bat photos are wonderful. Allyson has me totally programed now. When I see a bat, I think "Sam!"

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I believe many libraries have stopped keeping records of what patrons have checked out to circumvent the government asking for said records.

I have to say, I kind of wish they did keep track, since the last time I went to the library, I took out five books, two of which I had read before. I read all the same stuff, and just forgot! Good thing I'm moving...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Huh. I didn't realize that the model playing a stripper on Tom Waits' iconic album cover later went on to have a famous acting career.

Can anybody name her?

Librarian Warlord

I kind of wish they did keep track

Our library does not keep track*, but the patrons can choose to have the database keep track of what they've checked out. (This list would then become subject to the Patriot Act provisions.)

  • we do know who the last person to check something out was, and that information could sit there for years if no one else checks out the volume

That actually may be possible here, really -- what I really need is the person checking me out to tell me! Or maybe pay more attention to what I read....
