I know a German woman (German citizen, not German-American) who is very nice in most ways, but will go on about how great Jews are how much Jews have accomplished, and so on. And the thought occurs to me: I'll bet I'm getting a taste of what other races and ethnic groups in the U.S. get a whole lot more often.
I should not be surprised that Joan Baez visited the Cellist of Sarajevo during the seige, sat in his chair and sang. Goddamned I love that woman.

Hah. I commented. When I saw her in Philly, it was a small venue, and I got to go up and say "My dad bought you coffee once!" I was a dork. I grew up listening to her. A Voice to Sing With made a big impression on 13 year old me.
BTW, I love your Barcelona pictures. Brings back happy memories.
