I know a German woman (German citizen, not German-American) who is very nice in most ways, but will go on about how great Jews are how much Jews have accomplished, and so on. And the thought occurs to me: I'll bet I'm getting a taste of what other races and ethnic groups in the U.S. get a whole lot more often.

I should not be surprised that Joan Baez visited the Cellist of Sarajevo during the seige, sat in his chair and sang. Goddamned I love that woman.

K thinks it's sort of wrong to teach him that. But I think anything said by a two year old is much more adorable.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sometimes I shouldn't be allowed to be around children:

Just sometimes?

Oh, look how well he's talking!

My mom fainted today and none of her coworkers thought to tell my family until the end of the day. They were too scared of her to ask for contact info or something. There's a chance it might have been a mini stroke, but how to know? It's too late for that, apparently. She's okay now, I think, though. My sister didn't actually say. I assume positively.
