Punishingly Intricate

I celebrated my first Canadian Thanksgiving today! We have a Candadian flag on the wall. And California Zinfandel. (Does Canada make any wine?) Boyfriend roasted a turkey breast and sauteed morels (that he picked last spring) and made gravy. I roasted butternut squash, mashed taters w/ sage and goat cheese, and made apple crisp! YUM!! Canadian Thanksgiving RULES! Except I had to work today and have to work tomorrow. bah.

eta and now the resident Canadian is washing the dishes while I sit here and "look pretty." Canadians RULE!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Woohoo, ita!

I had a pretty good first day, but OMG I missed the internet. Things will be better after I get to move into my permanent office in a couple of weeks, but I will still miss the internet.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Things will be better after I get to move into my permanent office in a couple of weeks

Why do I never get an office? I do have a nice large cubicle with a window, but I always seem to work for places that dole out offices more rarely than diamonds. And I don't get diamonds either.

I checked the intranet for the office dress policy, and it says there isn't one and to ask my manager. And then I get introduced to another one of his reports and she's wearing a kinda torn denim jacket and jeans. I don't think I'd ever feel that comfortable as a contractor. Probably not denim jacket comfortable as an employee. But I think it does mean hose isn't mandatory, so that's good.

Congratulations on celebrating Canadian thanksgiving!
