Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't get to see Tom Scola today. It is sad making.

He's having lunch at Juliana's new restaurant which got a rave review recently.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My sister and BIL are house-shopping, and saw one place in Vegas that was just filled with light mauve/pink decorating, including two of the three bathrooms.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

From a review of Black Lizard, reminding us what truly makes a movie great:

Just about all of the scenes set in one of the Black Lizard’s several lairs are as far over the top as a boundary-pushing director, a transvestite leading “lady,” and a gay, imperialist warrior-poet could make them, with garish sets, flamboyant costumes, and cartwheel-turning midgets all over the place.

Now Playing: Stereolab's "Jenny Ondioline."

“Not dead yet!”

I can hear the sellers/designers screaming now as I probably rip out the brand new granite/marble counters they put in. I hate the new stuff.

I love new kitchens, but I also like a balance, especially if it's in a distinctively vintage house. Nothing makes me twitch more than an exquisite vintage house that looks like an industrial loft on the inside. One of the houses we looked at in Seattle is a classic Mid-century Modern (1961, I think) but the kitchen had last been redone in the mid-80s and seriously looked it. That's one I'd love to go into and redo with the new appliances that have the retro exteriors.
