ETA: I've e-mailed/heard back from this one. They seem pleasant and helpful, though are quick to point out how quickly their apts. go, which may or may not be an exaggeration but can't fault them for saying so.

Yeah, but I'm not wedded to truly down town. The apartments looked cool, is about how much thought I put into it. I think what I need to do is make a few appointments and see what's what.

If you want walkability & stuff, I'd also say look in Charles Village, as it is def a university area.
