Not going to even try to catch up anytime soon. I am tanned and fit (to my surprise) and the trip and the people on it did wonderful things for me.
Kathmandu is on paper everything I might hate: crazy, chaotic, filthy, no personal space, noisy, poverty is abysmal, and I LOVED IT. I waded in ankle deep filth carried by monsoon rains and liked it.
Bhutan was magical, and the eclipse...well, we fucking lucked out and got to see it. Weather held until the last day, and the country is incredible.
I am also exhausted having woken up every single morning between 5 and 5:30 local, regardless of whether I went to bed at midnight or 3 am. I did an insane impression of an extrovert, and even felt the energy rush of one the whole time.
And now I suspect I will collapse for a few days. And try not to kill the parents. I refrained remarkably well.
Having a trio of UK doctors and the organizer (also a UKer) to drink and trek with helped immeasurably. I miss them terribly already.
More as I get stuff online.
