Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Even named Slug, he still would be a Loki.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Dinner: jumbo shrimp in couscous with onion, mushroom, petite green beans, roasted garlic, feta cheese, almonds, basil, and lime juice.

Wow, I knew my ramen was sub-standard, but reading Dana's dinner makes me want to cry. Well, to steal her dinnner, and then to cry. But if I stole her dinner, I'd be happy, so I *wouldn't* cry.

I'm so conflicted!

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I would love to have a cat that was mellow, affectionate, didn't wake me up at night, and never knocked anything over

Mine occassionally knocks things over (like once per month), but other than that? That's him.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My cat just walked all over my laptop and then unplugged it.

Anyway. Dinner was had. I had sweet basil squid and strawberry bubble tea. The bubble tea tasted like it was made with Strawberry Quick instead of real strawberries, but in spite of this (or maybe because of this) it was very nummy.

Has anyone ever noticed that whenever we talk about meals, Dana's are always both good and healthy and home-cooked? I think I want Dana to come to my house and take care of me.

hip deep in pie

When I was out looking for him, all the OTHER dang neighborhood cats were coming to my calls when I was on the porch.

Oh, that used to happen to me with Pico. Crazy making.

Cats, man. My stupid Homer was trying SO HARD to get the (Irish!) mover guy this morning to love him, it was hilarious.

Oz is like this. He never understands why delivery guys don't stay for a visit.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

That's because I don't tell you about the times I make my husband stop for McDonald's.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I know! Dana's food always sounds so great.

I am responsible for my own dinner tonight and therefore have eaten nothing. I'm actually going to do the squash risotto, but it takes work! And I am lazy.

But also hungry.

Dana: evidence that editorial control can make you seem glamorous. Or at least healthy.

I'm also trying to cook a lot this week, while I still have the time.
