UPS is requiring someone to be present for the delivery of my TV stand. It would have been nice to know that BEFORE the first delivery attempt, because then I would have taken my work laptop with me last night and worked from home today.
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you

Know what else you can get for $12? Internet ON THE PLANE.
Which is somewhat soothing my pain over the fact that I'll be stranded in Salt Lake City overnight.
I wish you knew my friend in SLC, Dana -- she's even going to the airport in the morning!
I actually have relatives in SLC, but husband and I ended up there overnight in December, and I don't really want to impose on them again, even though I know they wouldn't mind.
I also don't really have the brainpower to deal with it right now. It'll be almost 10 by the time I land, and I will have been awake far too long.
Welcome home Sara!
Not going to even try to catch up anytime soon. I am tanned and fit (to my surprise) and the trip and the people on it did wonderful things for me.
Kathmandu is on paper everything I might hate: crazy, chaotic, filthy, no personal space, noisy, poverty is abysmal, and I LOVED IT. I waded in ankle deep filth carried by monsoon rains and liked it.
Bhutan was magical, and the eclipse...well, we fucking lucked out and got to see it. Weather held until the last day, and the country is incredible.
I am also exhausted having woken up every single morning between 5 and 5:30 local, regardless of whether I went to bed at midnight or 3 am. I did an insane impression of an extrovert, and even felt the energy rush of one the whole time.
And now I suspect I will collapse for a few days. And try not to kill the parents. I refrained remarkably well.
Having a trio of UK doctors and the organizer (also a UKer) to drink and trek with helped immeasurably. I miss them terribly already.
More as I get stuff online.
Yay Sara!!
Sounds amazing, sarameg. I bet the kitties mob you.
Kitties are fine. My parents are already being too close despite having spent the last 30 hours WAY TOO CLOSE. Thank god the organizer sat me with him the first leg, even though it was the shortest. It gave me a good start.
Sara, the trip sounds incredible! Welcome back!
