Ack. The job wants to call to make me an offer.

Natter 64: Yes, we still need you
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
No Ack! This is a good thing!
The "ack" is the part where I have to see what the salary is. And might have to argue about it.
I mean, unless it's the "you can't refuse" kind of offer. But I'd be surprised if it were.
Breaking in, skipping a lot. Our management just sent this out:
NorCal Tsunami Advisory after Somoa [sic] Earthquake
A tsunami advisory is in effect which includes the coastal areas of California and Oregon from the California-Mexico border to the Oregon-Washington border...
Persons in tsunami advisory areas should move out of the water... off the beach and out of harbors and marinas.
Tsunami advisories mean that a tsunami capable of producing strong currents or waves dangerous to persons in or very near water is imminent of expected. Significant widespread inundation is not expected for areas in an advisory. Tsunamis are a series of waves potentially dangerous several hours after initial arrival time. Estimated times of initial wave arrival for selected sites in the advisory are provided below.

I'm working on a proposal and you guys are so tuned into current events. Anyone else been hearing about the tsunami?
eta: I don't know. The LA Times seems to think that no tsunami warning was issued. Ima going with the LA Times over our HR mgmt.
All it says is Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
That's all mine says, too. Well, except mine is Service Pack 2.
I'm trying to install AVC on my classroom computers and it works on my computer but not the kids' computers. AVC doesn't work on 64-bit, so I was wondering how to tell.
I mean, unless it's the "you can't refuse" kind of offer.
No, I just hope it's not the "we suspect you might be desperate, so we're hoping you'll take this job that will be significantly less than you were making before, even though we told you we'd make a decent offer."
IF it doesn't say, I would assume 32-bit.
re: tsunami, there are supposed to be 20 dead in Samoa from it.
Added irony to trashcan theft: tonight is the quarterly community meeting and I just realized I am missing it.
Unrelatedly, Hipsters of the Universe -- Artist Reinterprets He-Man Characters as Cool Kids
What would He-Man look like if he was really into fashion and indie rock? What if Skeletor was an American Apparel model living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn? What if She-Ra was an art school dropout that spent her time bar-hopping in the Lower East Side?
For the past few months artists Adrian Riemann has been creating a master work that answers these questions. Essentially, Riemann has remixed the characters of the popular 1980s "Masters of the Universe" cartoon series as highfalutin, Justice and Kid Cudi listening, circa 2009 hipsters. On top of that, he styled the characters in designer clothing as if this was a fashion spread in a magazine.
