It's an absolutely brilliant, spot-on deconstruction of the theology/soteriology, as well as lambasting the execrable writing.
Lambasting the writing seems almost unfair, it's it really all about the theology with the plot, characters, and dialogue as sort of afterthoughts.
And here are some incredibly beautiful pictures of beautiful people: [link]
ooooh! Bats! I'm doing my best to make them the new penguins. Heh.
I got an awesome review from Scrappy that has been keeping me buoyant.
Also, the Bible mentions male homosexuality five times, but doesn't mention lesbianism at all.
Very minor nit: isn't there something in the stuff Paul wrote about "...strange ways, men lay with men, women with women". However for us Jews I think the statement is true. Nothing in OUR bible about lesbians. Except maybe a passionate romance between two women if (as is often done) you interpret Naomi and Ruth that way. Really minor nit, because dead on in the main point.
Trudy, I just called. It went to voice mail.
Trudy, ring ring.
eta: and went to voicemail as well.
I think the main reason that Dobson doesn't mention female homosexuality is because he's not a closeted
Lesbian.
Some parishioner asked my great uncle John back in the sixties or seventies if homosexuality was a sin and he said that sin is temptation and he's never been tempted to have sex with a man so no.
Only he said it better an more poetic-like.
