We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Most of the dolls are there voluntarily, but knowing that at least one isn't, doesn't that continue to make the show uncomfortable?

Do we know that most are there voluntarily? Who isn't?

I was wondering that, too. I don't remember anything other than Computer Guy saying something like "They chose to be here," and Handler Guy asking, "Did they?"

But I don't remember anything about a specific person being there involuntarily.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It seems like Caroline was at least partially coerced, though we don't know any of the details.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

It seems like Caroline was at least partially coerced,

Not to me. From what I saw, she was presented with two options and she chose this one. It might not have been two great options, but it was her choice.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If her other option was jail, does that count as coercion?

If her other option was jail, does that count as coercion?

Not if she committed a crime.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah. Knee-jerk response from having spent my formative years in Nikita fandom.

I'm sure we'll find out -- well, if the show survives past a certain point, I'm sure we'll find out the story.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Uhm, I can answer the question about the question, but it's a spoiler:

you find out in the episode they're talking to Joss about. Press peeps have been given screeners of episodes 6 and 8.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

It seems like Caroline was at least partially coerced,

It felt like they were setting up a Femme Nikita kind of situation, but no details to really show what side of the line it fell on. Given everything else, though, I'll be mightily surprised if it doesn't turn out that some if not most are "volunteers" rather than, you know, actual volunteers.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Although the paragraph containing "titillating" says yes, more gratuitous sex, the following paragraph seemed to read counter to that. That it would be more (ideal) Inara situations. The "let's talk about sex and sexuality in addition to showing it" that I vaguely remember reading about.

I'm so confused. Even if he really meant the latter, it didn't pan out well for Inara. (Whore!)

There are a lot of interviews saying they are aware of the "ick factor", it is uncomfortable, they want to deal with responsibly, empowering, blah... And then we have last weeks episode where the head nerd has a live feed of the shower camera and it's just base exploitation with a joke on top. Of the million ways to show us that Victor remembers Sierra they chose the one with the least clothes.
