Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I was actually surprised when Coulson started going ashy. I assumed his Kree blood injection would protect him somehow.

Me, too.

Holy crap! Gemma! Phil! AHHHH!

Oh, god, the alliance of Phil and Cal made me shriek in glee. And there's always the possibility that Cal could come out of it, but that was good closure on his story. Poor, poor Cal.

At the one hour mark I was boggled at how much had already happened.

I actually felt sorry for Ward. My god, Bobbie is tough. But still, Ward actually bonded with Kara in their twistedness. And now he's going to take over Hydra (though a casting detail from the next Cap movie says Hydra isn't without a head).

Thank heaven Skye realized Mom couldn't be trusted early. I was so not enjoying all the "I'm just trying to help my people!" bit.

Boggled. So much.

Gemma!!!!

A thought re: The Thing That Ate Gemma: It might not be harmful. I thought I saw arms in it as it was writhing about. It may have grabbed her as a form of "what the hell am I dealing with--Finally, someone to communicate with!"

I'm betting weird symbiote or she'll be the one to communicate with the alien.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Man. Was it just me, or was tonight really rough on the ladies?

Raina dead, Kara dead, Bobbi TakingABulletForHerMaaaaaaaaan, Jemma giving in to Fitz and then glooped, and Jiaying turning out to be That Much More Evil than Cal.

Not sure if they're going to bring this up but - Raina had to have set that whole thing up, right? She saw when Skye was going to come meet Jiaying, and inserted herself so she'd get killed at just the right moment.

Also - there is one woman from the comics who gets her powers from contact with Kree technology, who we know is coming up in a few years....

Well, Gordon died, and I think Bobbie would have taken the bullet for anyone coming through the door, they just used Hunter for maximum effect.

I was kind of hoping they'd use Master Surgeon Cal to help save Bobbie. I was never worried about her, anyway.

I briefly perused some of Tumblr, and I didn't believe the stories about the Ward groupies. They're really pissed that Ward "isn't getting his redemption arc! I hate Marvel forever!"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Holy shit, that was two hours of holy shit. WHERE TO EVEN BEGIN.

Bobbi was fucking amazing, although I was confident she'd make it out alive given the spinoff hopes. I'm sad to see Agent 33 gone; I liked her and Ward together as a psycho couple. But Ward putting together a Hydra team is pretty awesome.

So that Jaiying, good goddamn, huh? I am all for her as a PROTECT THE INHUMANS AT ALL COSTS character, but Dichen Lachman's performance didn't do it for me, even though I thought she was fantastic on Dollhouse. They did some really great and interesting things with her and Cal (it was fun to finally see Mr. Hyde), though I'm not a fan of non-consensual mindwiping. (Hell, in a way it negates his "I'll live with this so you don't have to" kill because, nope, he doesn't have to live with it either.)

Skye has become implausibly badass but I'll take it. She's really grown as a character.

Is the redhead a known Inhuman or someone made up for the show?

Mack was wonderful, though I do wish The Guy Who Kills Gordon got to kill Gordon. Instead he got to cut off Coulson's hand, which, did I mention this episode was just full of HOLY SHIT? (And yes of course he's getting a robot hand. Also OH MY GOD AHAHAHA OH MY FUCKING GOD GODDAMN YOU KEVIN FEIGE.)

Are all the health nuts going to become Inhumans now???

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED WITH JEMMA NOOOOOOOOOOO.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

We don't know for sure what happened to Jemma but I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that getting engulfed by a tar-like blob and entombed in an apparently solid monolith isn't good for one's health.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I don't know if the redhead was an existing character or not. Her powers were similar to Madroxx from the X-Men. I did like Mack's line about "a horde of ginger ninjas" or whatever it was. I'm disappointed that Gordon turned out to be in on Jia Ying's evil plan from the beginning, I actually liked him.

I'm glad Mack is sticking around.

I'm trying to decide if Cal getting a mind-wipe was kind or cruel. He seemed genuinely happy and got to forget about all the evil he did and having to kill his wife to save his daughter, but on the other hand the daughter he sacrificed so much for is now a stranger to him.

I liked how May was just shutting Skye down at the start of their fight without effort and the only reason she lost was Skye sucker-punching May with her powers while May was trying to get her to stand down.

Not thrilled with Jemma suddenly deciding she's in love with Fitz after all, or her getting eaten by the black goo.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

LOVED Cal going completely batshit crazy - he was so totally gleeful about it. And I kind of liked that he can be happy, even though the non-consensual mindwipe is an issue. I'm hoping Jemma comes out of the black goo (any relation to the black oil in X Files?) and continues on the show.

One question - with Gordon gone, are any Inhumans left behind stuck up in the mountains (are they near Nanda Parbat (however you spell that) which seems to have a truly amazing transportation system)?

We don't know the mindwipe was non-consensual, perhaps it was presented to him as an option to being in a cell for the rest of his life. Regardless, I shall miss his "Yup, I'm nuts, and it's kind of fun" approach. His arc is fascinating, Jaiying, too, because she had a damned good reason for going off the rails. Hydra must have been feeding her people to heal her, probably prisoners from her own village, just to make the horrific torture even worse.

But I did not expect Cal to be the woobie in that situation.

And I think Gemma's going to come out of that goo, but how and in what condition will be iffy.
