I am trying to remember what we know about Skye's origin - it's not very much is it? Am I right in thinking that SHIELD showed up and took her away after the whole village was dead? I forget what happened after that, the agents also got killed, right?

While I definitely think there's more going on in Afterlife than Skye is being told, I don't get the impression her parents are lying to her. Skye's mother had the same deliberate delivery in the flashbacks to young Gordon and his change.
