Mal: Cut it out. Job's not done until we're back on Serenity. Zoe: Sorry, sir. Didn't mean to enjoy the moment.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Christ, man, Reed Diamond and Kyle MacLachlan are TERRIFYING together.

Yes, they are. Love it.

I thought Skye's dad killed those guys because they irritated him, and he was in a bad mood from Raina. I don't get the impression he needs much in the way of a reason, as such.

I did not recognize Adrianne Palicki at all! I mean, I thought she looked vaguely familiar enough that I was gonna go look her up if y'all hadn't clued me in, but still.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I've seen some sites talking about him being the Marvel version of Mr Hyde

You mean the MCU version? Mr. Hyde is a Marvel villain. I could see that, though, given his portrayal in this episode, like he's fighting an inner monster, a struggle with a dual personality.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

But the real ha ha point is that he thinks fighting is just reflexive and anyone can do it well enough.

So the only fighting he's done has presumably involved the reflexes of his thumb on the video game controller?

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Mr. Hyde is a Marvel villain.

Right, the MCU version of the Marvel Comics version.

a struggle with a dual personality

See, that's not what it looked like to me. I saw a guy struggling with his temper, but no suggestion the temper was a completely different persona.

I thought we was kind of transforming as well.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The theme of calling Skye's parents "monsters" over and over and over again AND cutting away from the carnage says to me that he doesn't look human all the time.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I thought we was kind of transforming as well.

He was certainly lit very starkly (or moodily? strangely? basically, the way he was lit, even for this show that tends to be visually dark, had a very creepy effect), which made it seem as though he could transform. Even in the last scene with Whitehall, who was lit fairly normally (for this show), creepy Skye-dad was still lit really moodily.

Yeah, you can't see his face clearly, and what you can see looks off.

I liked him quickly cleaning up the blood spatter with his sleeve. "Oops, sorry, my bad."

I'm pretty thrilled he was cast. I'm liking this year better than last, although it's way darker tonally (and visually).
