Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers

TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

God, it's nice to hear good things!

Well, the two women who are showrunners (Fain/Craft) wrote this one. They dealt with/deflected some of the squick, plotted out a deft storyline that took advantage of the premise and also brought the sharp dialogue.

This one reminded me a little bit of the Global Frequency pilot.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Was Sienna!Taffy wearing comfortable shoes? Because Echo!Taffy sure wasn't. And she did have that line about footwear.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Was Sienna!Taffy wearing comfortable shoes?

They both wore the crazy leather boots with the pencil-thin 4" heels. I can't decide if that line was supposed to be ironic or not, because they both said it straight, with no hint of irony. As if the costumer didn't see the script.

I was bugged by the fact that the distraction in the beginning had to use Echo as a hooker, and that I couldnt' figure out how they got out at the end. The door they entered through was bolted shut and the guards had them trapped; so how did Echo and wassname get out?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

...so, basically it was better because it wasn't Joss?

That's...wow. That's pretty disheartening, given that his name is the reason I've been waiting for this show for the past year.

Arse.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Torque, Amy is married, so probably not. I believe this is the only episode without her, btw.

TiVo's ep description says, among other things, "Adelle makes a shocking confession." Guys? We know Alpha's alive. Topher's the only one that was shocked.

Yeah, this is called 'changing the episode order'. Also visible signs - they fact the 'previously on Dollhouse' section at the beginning is full of scenes from this episode.

Dichen Lachman (Sierra) can act. She's also a lovely person.

Next week - Tim Minear's first episode.
