What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that was fooled that Simmons wasn't real. I gasped at the reveal.

Didn't see it coming at all. That was really well done.

That Absorbing Man is a formidable asshole!

I don't know what to make of Ward but he seems weirdly genuine? I don't know.

I agree it could have used a bit more lightness, but it's a promising start.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I like the darker edge to things. It fits with how the show left off last season.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I don't mind the darkness of the story ... I DO mind that I couldn't see a lot because it came through as so dark on my TV. sigh ....

And:

Thank dog for DVR

Thank downward dog?

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Seriously, his name was Gabe Jones.

Thanks, Vortex! I'm not up on the comic backstory of the HC's, so I wanted to do a little nerd research.

I liked the darkness of the ep. I mean, they have a huge job ahead of them, few resources, and shit really hit the fan last fall.

Thank downward dog? NO IT IS THE DEVIL TO ME!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I like bugfuck crazy Ward. As long as he stays evil.

I'd like that too, Dana, but it seems like they're going for the redemption arc. We'll see. Unforgiving Skye is pretty cool, though.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'd still like to see Agent May stop by every so often to beat him up ... but at this point he'd probably enjoy it. sigh ...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ward is the Riley of this show. Clearly meant to be attractive to the ingenue lead, but so fucking boring to the audience, except when he's being an asshole.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I don't know, I found Riley most interesting when he was just being Dr. Walsh's grad assistant and the nice prospective boyfriend. It was all the supposedly interesting and dark stuff that got added on later that bored me to tears.

Ward's sort of the opposite, only popping out of the background when actively being evil and dangerous.

brillig

I'm wondering what he knows about Skye's father, since he didn't seem to know it at the end of last season--or did he!
