Bonny, I would say that this is leftover structure, not new structure. When SHIELD fell, the guys like Koenig just stayed where they were, because they never got orders to come in.

I'm so happy this show has become the self-aware live-action comic book I knew it could be. That was fun times. Garrett was a pure comic book villain, and Bill Paxton left no scenery unchewed, but I was ready to move on, so his end was great.

If Fury suspected something was fundamentally wrong with SHIELD, he'd want Coulson to help him fix it. Then Loki shows up and kills Coulson. So of course, knowing he can't deal with the fundamental problem in SHIELD alone, he needs Coulson back.

Didn't they do an autopsy on Billy? Unless LMDs are really, really good, I'm gonna have to go with clone/twin.
I'm really looking forward to S2. They left so much to play with--the cube, rebuilding SHIELD, Raina, Skye's parent, Phil's night writing, etc.
And with Agent Carter being scheduled for the winter hiatus, I could see some interesting parallels developing, with building SHIELD in her show and Phil et al rebuilding it in theirs.
