Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
Ah, it's going to be a Sudden Revelation of Powers thing.
We were speculating on that last night.
Tim: "Maybe she'll have wings!"
Me: "That's not a terribly useful power."
Tim: "Did we not see the same Falcon in Winter Soldier?"
Tim: "Maybe she's Asgardian!"
Me: "How would she grow up totally unaware that she was not human?"
Tim: "Loki didn't know he was a Frost Giant."
Apparently I have schooled him too well in comics. Now he can refute all my arguments.
That is always the danger of education.
Is anyone else anxiously anticipating Quinn opening up "his" gravitonium only to have it congeal into Graviton, who promptly crushes him like an ant?
Although I guess the show would need a new snarky evil businessman, then, so they probably won't do that.
That is always the danger of education.
OTOH, he also told me a couple of weeks ago that he beat a metal can (to get out melted-then-hardened metal that was stuck in it) "like [he] was the Joker and the can was Robin."
I was so proud.
So, conferring comics knowledge is a double-edged sword.

I kept waiting for Garrett to kill him. I'm wondering whether they'll decide to have Graviton envelop him so that he's Graviton instead.*
*I have no idea how Graviton works.

Watch Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. He shows up very early on. Though SHIELD may be doing a completely different take on him.
Also, A: EMH is worth watching in general.
ETA: Though I will say Graviton isn't like super awesome or definitive or anything like that in the show. He's mostly just a generic really powerful bad guy. But you'll see his powers in action.
ZOMG too much work today to talk about SHIELD!
Anyway, I'm liking everyone much more over the past two eps now that the show is done spinning its wheels. I want Simmons/Tripp to happen. I want Skye to find out about Ward and punch him in his stupid face. Coulson's freak-out? Yes please. Moar emotions.
Also, something no one has mentioned yet. Patton Oswalt. Always happy to see him.
As I watched, I was thinking Patton Oswalt must be the most delightful human in the business.
He is in EVERYTHING these days and seems perfect every time.
I'm never surprised to see him, what with ubiquitousness, but I'm always glad.
That speech broke my heart, while also making me want give Clark Motherfucking Gregg a standing ovation.
Now I want to see Coulson and Fury sitting alone on a bench somewhere, looking ragged. Maybe smoke coming off their clothes.
Fury: What do you want me to say?
Coulson: Lie to me.
Fury: Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.
fade to black
Coulson: Liar.
