I'm expecting episode 6 to be unfuckingbelievably good.
I'm not sure it's possible for it to be good enough to redeem itself in the eyes of all the people who are disliking it now. I think the bar's just gotten too high.
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

I remember trying to get people to watch Dark Angel 's second season, when it started getting good and interesting, and featured Jensen Ackles.
(Irony was, Fox was this close to commiting a third season, then they abruptly cancelled it to roll out Firefly too early, so they managed to kill TWO interesting series.)
I like it, but that doesn't mean I think it's deep. I mean, it could be, but so far not really. But then, I've watched a million hours of L&O, where you know if it's halfway in, they got the wrong guy. So I'm much more insulted by "House's" Olivia Wilde/Foreteen obsession than Joss Whedon's Eliza obsession.

This is pretty much where I am. It may get deep, and I'm all for that, but right now I'm enjoying it on a shiny level.
Yeah, I'd be excited if it got deep, but considering a. I usually lead up to it with Keith and Rachel, I'm pretty knowledged up for the week by Friday at 8. and 2. Till Rescue Me comes back on a few weeks, I'm short a show where the wild plots are sort of a liability, but I like the actors and there is kinky(for TV) sex. my tastes are simple ones.
Well, I'm enjoying it. I don't think it's Firefly, but I kind of like having it on my DVR on Saturday.
I'm in the erika/Emily corner.
I never in my life expected to find myself reading a conversation about consent issues as they pertain to glory holes.
In the latest episode I didn't care much about the pop star, but once Echo hit hit her with the chair I was in for the rest of the ep. I hope they start spending more time on the through line and less on the assignment of the week.

Well, I'm in good company.
This last week's episode did have the added bonus of making me go, "Hmm, hip-scarf as a skirt? We haven't tried that in my bellydancing class."
Actually, I'll go a little further. I like seeing Dushku, I'm curious about the background stories, and so far there have been a fair number of, if not "holy shit!" moments, at least "oh! huh, that's interesting" moments. And you know, I don't expect it to be Firefly-like in any way, but I do remember that I didn't exactly like Firefly at first either. So yeah.
Emily is me.
