Here's hoping they don't "answer" questions like LOST did! #stillbitter
'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
All I'm really left with is "Poor Mike Petersen." I actually yelled "No!" at the TV.
The Coulson thing was kind of anticlimactic. Or maybe I'm just jaded. I mean, it's not like it's surprising that SHIELD did terrible horrible things (that the show conveniently didn't have to describe; awesome storytelling, folks) to bring Coulson back and gave him fake memories. And?
I was the same way. "He lost his will to live? That's it? Has no one on this writing staff ever gone through a horrible medical episode?"
Having him worry about what else they've done to his brain is far more believable. If the operations were particularly horrific, that could be pretty traumatic. Isn't this the kind of situation medically enduced comas was meant for?
I'm kind of at the point where the Coulson issues are going to be shuffled off into "It was awful and traumatic and is going to mess him up for a while but that's behind us" and enjoy the hunt for Centipede et al, Skye modelling Melinda--brilliant by the way--and Fitz going badass while Simmons dithers.
Mike's fate was kind of inevitable considering the situation but should provide lovely angst.
But apparently Coulson is Original Human Coulson! Yay!
I was the same way. "He lost his will to live? That's it? Has no one on this writing staff ever gone through a horrible medical episode?"
I mean, being conscious and in horrific pain during Horrible (Yet Undescribed By The Really Motivated Writing Staff) Medical Procedures is, indeed, fucking awful. But...we waited all this time for that? To find out SHIELD did some creepy forbidden painful nonconsensual medical mojo? Again I say, SO not surprised.
We could find out that Fury made Deals That Should Not Be Made in order to get Coulson back. It's nice to see Fury was so inspired--and a nice view of Agent Hand, who was baffled on why Fury and Hill were so anxious for updates on what was going on.
How many tricky powers are there in the Marvel universe that could do the job for a price? Not-Book came in late in the game. I'm still thrilled that it's apparently not Memorex Phil, which is what I was expecting, that the brain machine was downloading the last upload of Phil Coulson--complete with "Let me die" into the "brain" of a Life Model Decoy.
that the brain machine was downloading the last upload of Phil Coulson--complete with "Let me die" into the "brain" of a Life Model Decoy.
Me, too. Or a clone, or something. Or he had to punch his way out of his own grave.
he had to punch his way out of his own grave.
Wrong show.
Or they could go with "He didn't come back right" or "He brought something back with him."
ION, I quite liked Skye tonight.
I haven't been watching the show, so I don't really know everything that has been going on.
I liked Skye mimicking Melinda, and then Melinda's comment about the nice jacket. Plus the "don't touch Lola" comment as she went out the door.
I may be a little confused because I can't remember if Dr. Book was implying that Coulson was awake/aware during ALL 7 procedures or just during the last one. I couldn't tell if the lost the will to live part was from bringing him back or from subjecting him to multiple painful procedures (presumably against his consent) or just to being brought back to life.
So, I guess I’m done with S.H.I.E.L.D. now. Maybe I’ll watch the Winter Soldier crossover, but other than than, I just so don’t care.
Also, an airplane making a K-turn? That will shave, like, 30 seconds off of the total flight time?
