In the Gravitron episode, didn't they mention they had had Dr. Gravitron as an instructor at university?
Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
One day they will show electrophoresis on television.
HA!
"Why are you surfing the Internet? There's crime to be solved!"
"I'm waiting for the gel to run."
(I totally noticed the implausibility of him catching her in the air, too, but I was still in the midst of reminding myself not to science too hard at a comic-book-based TV show!)

Ah! Possibly.

That is also implausible. Truly, she would be mixing the buffers to be ready to run the gel again when it inevitably fails.
At this point they have to be fucking with us re: ROBOT
I'm still voting cyborg.
I find it interesting that everyone who hasn't been enjoying the show that much thought this episode was fabulous. Since I have been adoring the show, but thought this episode was just okay.
I didn't notice the red blood cells-for-nerve cell switch, but I was rolling my eyes at the pipettors with tips attached sitting in the stand. Then, again, I'm used to molecular biology lab stuff being done wrong.
(I still remember an episode of the X-Files where Scully was running a gel-can't remember if it was a Southern blot or sequencing- in an improbably short amount of time. )
Oh dear, I didn't notice those.
Catching up on the latest, it's making me weepy, that also might be the wine and the pms'ing.
It amuses me that you science types are nitpicking Agents' lab practices while I'm biting my tongue at Sleepy Hollow over "she wouldn't be buried in holy ground!" and "What is up with that dress on a Quaker!"
But I still love both shows.
I was honestly expecting them to use Lola the Flying Car to go after Simmons. And I have no problem at all with handwavium all over the place.
It was such a comfort to be watching the episode on HULU, knowing there were posts waiting for me to read here, and knowing the science was going to be nitpicked. Feels like home.
Whoever invoked Hole in the World, I literally shuddered. I kind of want to cross myself even now. Joss does have us well trained.

Ha. My nitpicks are things like "that's not how you use a shovel!" and of course, the pronunciation of Romanian.
I liked a lot of things about this episode, but my favorite thing that I haven't seen mentioned is how totally misleading the ads for it were. Well done.
