It's just that the show isn't really racking up points for the way it *doesn't* exploit women's bodies, you know?

Well sure, but isn't that the point? I mean, look at our society. If anything, it makes me think more about the everyday exploitation I'm so used to that I barely notice. Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that the only purpose of the body shots and clothing is to make a point--Fox knows what sells--but I think there's potential for there to be something more there, too. We'll see.

ETA: Yeah, I cringed at the twins line, too. Uck.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I thought it was interesting how much stuff from the original pilot made it into this episode.

Actually, a lot of the best stuff from the ep...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I found the twins line utterly predictable. NSM for the show, as for the man, even though we knew so little of him.

The amount of stuff from the pilot confused me, because I stopped being able to remember what we'd already been shown.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I liked last night's a lot better than the other two. I especially liked that moment in the end where it's clear that Echo is started to remember pieces of her many lives, but--more interestingly--is conscious of the fact that she shouldn't let anyone else know that she's remembering. Potential for something interesting there.

Oh, yes. The A plot ... eh. Didn't hate it, didn't care overly much. The further exploration of Echo's sense of self? Yeah, that interested me.

It was also nice to not just see her out having sex with someone.

A month ago, I would have thought this sentence to be impossible.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

something just occurred to me. Is Sierra remembering as well or is she just remembering dollhouse!echo?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

It's not clear, Vortex.

If anybody is wondering re all the footage from the episode "Echo" - they shot 14 episodes on a 13 episode (and so budget) order. So stuff is reused throughout the series.

Always Anti-fascist!

I couldn't tell, Vortex. Maybe a little of both? I thought Eliza had a nice handle on this persona, though. And a decent singing voice.

I think Sierra does remember something, because the whole reason behind the head shake was that Sierra looked like she was about to greet Echo or thank her, which she wouldn't normally do if they'd been wiped completely.

Also, with the way the wiped actives are so innocent, if Sierra didn't know/remember something she would wonder why Echo didn't want to talk to her.
