If the mainframe was destroyed then Dominic probably is dead.
Jossverse 1: Emotional Resonance & Rocket Launchers
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.
And Paul just got shot down like a dog? Holy SHIT!!! Jossing us good, ain't he.
Someone's been watching The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
I got to say, whatever Eliza's other shortcomings thespian-wise, she's got an incredible gift for acting violent rage leading into grief and/or self-loathing.
Yeah, that scene actually made me buy the Echo/Paul thing.
They'll still be together--it will just always be masturbation.
Ha, yeah, that's what I was thinking as well.
Oh, Poor Topher. Poor, poor Topher. Never thought I'd think that.
I really didn't want him to die, but if he was going to, that was the best way to do it.
I think Topher could have designd a remote trigger if he'd wanted to.
Oh, totally. But I feel like Topher had been wanting to kill himself for years for what he'd done, but he kept himself alive and powered through insanity just so he could undo it.

Because Joss never casually killed anyone before?
I'm not sure about these guys and remote triggers. I figured they could have used one and kept wiped Boyd alive too. Hmm. But then they would have had Rossum back now.
My current takeaway from this is sweetly haunting, which is not really a place I expect Joss to leave me. Definitely worth rewatching back to back with Epitaph 1 soon.

That's what we did last night, and I'm glad. So much to take in.
I guess we were supposed to think that Paul-in-Echo was poignant? I thought it was creepy!
I thought it was creepy too. And the Grr Argh came up so abruptly.
But - when Echo had her tantrum? I started crying and I think I kept on crying 'til the end.
Yeah, this, like the Peacekeeper Wars in Farscape-verse, is just chockful of what might have been.
And the Grr Argh came up so abruptly.
Yeah, I wondered if that was a transmission error. Did that happen to West Coast people as well?
My DVR cut out before Grr Argh. Did he do anything different?
Not an episode to watch on a day when you're feeling a bit low anyway. Apparently.
My current takeaway from this is sweetly haunting, which is not really a place I expect Joss to leave me.
Definitely. It was a whole new way for him to end something.
I thought Eliza was unusually good this ep. Not sure I like Ballard ending up in Echo's head, but it makes a kind of sense, too. I agree that there were so many arcs I'd have liked to have seen - not least Alpha's. How cool was the double take moment when we worked out he was good now?
A light-touch finish. And an interesting way to end.
