OH YEAHS! I remember now what else pissed me off. When Ballard at the end asks for her name, but refuses to give his own, he gains the ability to look her up in the future, giving himself power but denying her power.
When Echo was getting ready to save herself and Ballard & her handler were in pursuit, I had this glimpse of how she could save herself and not need them and what that would mean, but then there was the "handsome man saved me from the monsters" moment.
