I don't really get the Twitter thing
Y'know, I've had a Twitter account a while now, and this is the first thing that's ever made it interesting to me.
TV, movies, web media--this thread is the home for any Joss projects that don't already have their own threads, such as Dr. Horrible.

I don't get Twitter either, but then I hear ridiculous stories like this and want to get in on the hilarity.
I twittered something about smoking the other day, and an anti-smoking group followed me and then started nagging me about smoking. (I don't smoke).
It's kinda cool. It's like being in a pub at 3am with a load of well meaning, very drunk, not very coherent people.
That sounds like Circle Three of my own personal hell.
I don't really get the appeal of Twitter either. Especially since most people who Twitter have their Tweets show up as their status in Facebook, which I visit frequently. It kinda makes Twitter annoying as I've already seen most of the updates on Facebook.
The DH uses Twitter to post when his blogs and columns are up with a link and all his journo friends do the same. It's an easy way for them to keep track of far-flung writers all in one place.
I like it because I have a select list of folks I am following, from a Roller Derby referee (fun) to Steven Fry (witty and geeky), to my niece (adorable), to John Hodgman (hilarious).
I love twitter and can't stand facebook anymore. I don't get all that poke and gift stuff and all the endless requests. It's annoying. And also, my parents and all their friends are on facebook.
I reserve Facebook to close friends as I don't think anybody else should have to go through the trauma of seeing my face. Twitter is more fandomy-things for me.
The search feature on Twitter is what makes it amazing. If you want to know what's going on somewhere, it's brilliant.
I also find the FB/twitter copies really annoying. It makes me tend to use one less than the other, but it's hard to say which one.
What a debacle that was. I haven't seen events in the fanfom move that fast in a long time. Strangely I think Dollhouse has come out as a winner from this chaos, Fox not so much.
