The DH uses Twitter to post when his blogs and columns are up with a link and all his journo friends do the same. It's an easy way for them to keep track of far-flung writers all in one place.
I like it because I have a select list of folks I am following, from a Roller Derby referee (fun) to Steven Fry (witty and geeky), to my niece (adorable), to John Hodgman (hilarious).
I love twitter and can't stand facebook anymore. I don't get all that poke and gift stuff and all the endless requests. It's annoying. And also, my parents and all their friends are on facebook.
I reserve Facebook to close friends as I don't think anybody else should have to go through the trauma of seeing my face. Twitter is more fandomy-things for me.
The search feature on Twitter is what makes it amazing. If you want to know what's going on somewhere, it's brilliant.
I also find the FB/twitter copies really annoying. It makes me tend to use one less than the other, but it's hard to say which one.
What a debacle that was. I haven't seen events in the fanfom move that fast in a long time. Strangely I think Dollhouse has come out as a winner from this chaos, Fox not so much.
I only thing crazier than yesterday was the Life on Mars US ending.
Okay, so...
does that mean the show's cancelled? Or not?
Not. They were never going to air Joss's episode, and the fact that they have told us does not change that.
Besides, didn't you hear, Echo is a dominatrix tonight! Why would you cancel that?
The only additional thing to add to P-C's apt summary is that Fox failed to tell anybody they weren't planning to air Joss's episode.
