I don't actually have any of my stuffed toys from my early childhood. Gunderson and Murphy (both bears from Gund) joined the family when I was 9 and 10.
Clovis and Prudence spend each night sitting behind my pillow, watching over me, and the squashy sleeping companion is selcted each night by a highly scientific process of whichever one seems like the "right" one.
Sigh. It's hard to be an animist.
