A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I was surprised that the trailer for Karate Kid looked so good. I don't think I ever saw the first one, not completely anyway.
I think I have found the answer to he discrepancies between men's and women's reported heights: Guys like to give their height with shoes, if they think they could use the extra inch, but women never do that....
Oh, true.
I don't think I ever saw the first one, not completely anyway.
AMY!!!! Must fix. Seriously. Fix now.
Hmm. Now I'm wondering if I give guys' heights with shoes on or not. I guess they more have standard shoes, so that's easier.
I still think Colin is 6'.

Yeah, me neither.
I'm going to have to re-watch Man from UNCLE, I was just a wee tot when that was on, and I don't remember Illya being tiny.
Some famous writer/director said that "Karate Kid" is a perfect 3-act movie.
I see the arguments. I really loved the movie as a teenager.
I still think Colin is 6'.
How tall does he claim?
Meeting actors usually gives me cognitive dissonance, because for some reason I think of myself as being short, and when the guys I thought would be significantly taller than me are not, it's weird.

I remember first seeing McCallum in The Great Escape, and since they usually have him standing next to Richard Attenborough, he doesn't look unusually short there. It's just that, on NCIS, almost all of his co-stars are around the six foot mark, except for the actors who play Palmer and Ziva.
