A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Meeting actors usually gives me cognitive dissonance, because for some reason I think of myself as being short, and when the guys I thought would be significantly taller than me are not, it's weird.
I don't remember Illya being tiny.
I remember first seeing McCallum in The Great Escape, and since they usually have him standing next to Richard Attenborough, he doesn't look unusually short there. It's just that, on NCIS, almost all of his co-stars are around the six foot mark, except for the actors who play Palmer and Ziva.
AMY!!!! Must fix. Seriously. Fix now.
I should figure out how old I was when it came out. I know it didn't interest me at all. And I don't think I could sit through two hours of Ralph Macchio now. I'm sorry!
How tall does he claim?
6', I think. But sites have him at 5'11", which is too short.
My favorite imdb height is Kevin Connolly claiming 5'7'' My mom actually is, so she was like "As if," But I still love the feisty little bastard.

If you're 6' in 4" heels, you're not short.
5'4 is average height for women, 5'9 for men. So if you're 5'8, Zen, the guys aren't going to be significantly taller.
Amy, Pat Morita is worth watching. And the relationship between the characters, of course. It's the role Macchio couldn't move beyond for a reason.
I like the original Karate Kid! Pat Morita totally makes the movie watchable--he's got such a quirky style as Mr. Miyagi, and the scene when he gets drunk while remembering his wife and child at the internment camp gets me every time.
