I really liked Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In fact, that whole movie was way more enjoyable than I expected.
I want to dislike him too, but I've seen him on some British panel shows, and he can be really funny.
He has done some assholish things, I totally get that. On the other hand, some really funny interviews. And I just discovered he's taking krav from a friend of mine, so that'll amuse me for forever.
He can be funny and an asshole. I hear the two are not mutually incompatible.

But the funny is charming! I want charming and asshole to be mutually incompatible. It's simpler that way. And usually I'm pretty good about writing off the assholes.

That's sad news about Maggie Smith. ::queues up Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Ladies in Lavender::
I don't know the sad news about Maggie Smith, because, having not seen or read any Harry Potter, but wanting to some day, I had to skim all of the previous posts.
But I got to see her on stage a couple of years ago in a West End production of The Lady From Dubuque. The play itself is pretty much crap, but she was awesome. Which, not a surprise.

So I was going to make a joke about Urban Dictionary, and then I saw definition number 5 for "charming."
