My Type-A husband was a complete "I don't watch TV, it's beneath me" most of our married life, and he was only interested in movies with Willis, Eastwood, Ford, or Tommy Lee Jones in the cast or "blows shit up" in the blurb.

There's something very beautiful and hilarious in that.

My favorite David Lynch movie is probably the one that's now by Alan Smithee. In my defense, it's more the events of seeing the movie than the movie itself.

Has anyone else seen Christopher Nolan's first movie, Following ? It's pretty good, if you're into non-linear neo-noir.

Yes, I enjoyed Following although I kept expecting something more profound to happen.

I agree with Laga. I saw that movie right after seeing Memento so the influences on the latter were pretty clear to me.

Michael Cera stars as Matt Hooper. He has an extensive backstory where we learn that his connection to the shark is deeply personal.

Of course there's a CGI shark, but this CGI shark will be doing things no other CGI shark has ever done, including insane acrobatics. But more importantly this is a character story, so Andy Serkis will be hired to do the mocap for the CGI shark.

I loved the story about Andy Serkis studying for King Kong, where a lady gorilla apparently fell for him and was showing signs of jealousy towards his wife.
