Handsome brooding vampire guy has to swoop in all sensitive mouth and overhanging forehead. How 'bout leaving some scraps for the homely-looking fellows who don't turn evil when they get some?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Dang, y'all. Now I'm not gonna be able to watch a movie again ever without running it through the mental Bechdel filter.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My favorite recent TV show that blows away the Bechdel test is Sarah Connor Chronicles.

With movies, it's harder. Especially superhero movies.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Sons of Anarchy, oddly, passes.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Sons of Anarchy, oddly, passes.

Bless it, yes it does.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

SCC blew away so much. Not just the bad robots. Sob!

TV generally does much better than movies, in large part because the format allows eps that focus on different characters and stories from a variety of angles, but that doesn't give movies an out, IMO.

I don't think even Serenity passes it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It doesn't help that people generally talk about River rather than to her.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

My favorite recent TV show that blows away the Bechdel test is Sarah Connor Chronicles.

My show! My poor dead awesome show! *cries forever*

In 2008-2009 season, they cancelled THREE awesome shows I was fannish about that passed the test regularly (the other two would be Pushing Daisies and The Middleman.) In retrospect, I marvel at the fact that these shows even got made in the first place.

Because books.

And there used to be the awesome Clarissa Explains It all. Oh, also Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which was not so excellent, but between Sabrina and her two aunts, there was a lot of girl power on that show.
