Perkins, I was hoping and expecting that too.
I had more laughs from
The Losers
than
Iron Man 2,
and I think the action pacing (though not actual action scenes) was better.
Also, I was bitching about Zoe Saldana, but I'll take her over ScarJo for my team, thanks.
Oh me too!
I really enjoyed things go boom.
Always and forever love RDJ. I agree with the feeling that Scarlett was
superfluous. After her long hallway fight, I whispered to my DH, "Hit Girl could kick her ass."
Loved the
energy whip things. Cutting a car in half--AWESOME.
I enjoyed the movie, but did not fall in totally in love.
Sorry, I loved the Scarlett. As did, err. The entire van full of guys who went to the movie with me.
But their appreciation, like mine, was probably utterly shallow. *cough*
But did you think she was convincing? They said a whole lot of things about what her character was supposedly capable of, but...all I saw was sex-me face.
I'm a fan of the character, so I was glad that she got
that badass hallway scene,
but I do wish she'd gotten more to do.
I thought the movie was great overall, though it was less action-packed than the first and, as ita said, was less gleeface-inducing.
But did you think she was convincing? They said a whole lot of things about what her character was supposedly capable of, but...all I saw was sex-me face.
I was convinced. I also wasn't seeing sex-me face so much as
please give me an excuse to break both your arms off and shove them up your ass face.
Every move they had for her was so ludicrous.
Those flying scissors where she's wrestling the guys down from their necks? So her initial badass moment worked not for me. She should have evaded his strike and taken out his nuts. Then when she went on her mission through the corridors taking guys down with one touch (the leg sweeps I buy, but you gotta do something to them afterwards) while Jon Favreau is in an actual extended fight with multiple blows?
Made her look puny and implausible to me.
I haven't seen Iron Man yet, but I'm happy to say that I agree with ita about
fights where the hero does a leg sweep, the lackey goes down and doesn't get up.
I'm always looking
behind the hero to see the bad guys jump up like insufficiently whacked moles.
Ruins any good
fight scene for me
.
I'm prepared to suspend disbelief for TKO leg sweeps along with the action movie idea that
one
gun shot takes out a bad guy, and hitting someone over the head knocks them out safely for a long time.
